We are delighted to be awarded a £5,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Surrey Winter Poverty Fund.

During the cost of living crisis we have decided to keep our prices to our clients and new clients at a low level and not to increase it even though operational costs have increased. This is to ensure that over this difficult period, individuals can continue to access our service without the pressure of having to find additional funds.

Our client base are extremely vulnerable due to both their age group and the fact that they are living with dementia and many have limited income and are struggling with the additional costs of living, especially food and heating costs.

People living with dementia suffer from the cold more than others so it is important for them to be kept in a comfortable warm environment and the diet of people living with dementia could often be improved as they are unable to prepare their meals themselves or their carers are under so much pressure finically, mentally and physically, often the most simple meal options are chosen.

This grant has allowed us to keep our prices low, while keeping our clients warm and fed, so we don't add financial pressure on the people who really need our help.
