FAMILY AND CARER SUPPORT
To enable family and carers to care for their loved ones living with dementia it is essential that they look after their own health and wellbeing.

CAMEO is also focused on helping family and carers and provide:
  • Respite
We care for people living with dementia for 6 hours a day.  This enables carers and families to leave their loved ones in safe hands with peace of mind that their needs can be supported whilst they have a well deserved break. This gives carers time to themselves so that they can rest, get jobs done or spend time doing activities and hobbies that they enjoy.  All the time knowing that their loved ones are being well looked after and enjoying themselves.
  • Community Support
We run the ‘Care Café’ each month at a local venue, for families and carers of people living with dementia. This offers a welcoming and friendly environment for family and carers to meet and share experiences in a real supportive community of people who understand what each other are going through.
  • Advice and support
Our practice and training ensure that we can guide caregivers to a range of resources and advice that can support them. We provide support and advice to family and carers both on an individual basis and at the Care Café. We have visitors at the Care Café offering advice and support as well as signposting to other services and benefits.

MEET SOME OF OUR ENTERTAINERS

Hayley is a established singer who believes that music is a powerful tool. Even for residents with severe dementia, when they can no longer remember present day events, it is a pleasure to see them singing along, word for word, to songs from over 50 years ago!! Hayley provides a fun atmosphere and perform songs that the more able residents, with a little assistance, can have a little dance too, as well as performing the good old fashioned sing-a-long songs to get everyone joining in!  Hayley performs songs from the 50's to present day.
Billy is a musician and entertainer and plays guitar 60's & 70's.   He performed in lots of bands in the 60's including Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Nicky Hopkins & John Hawken. Billy always encourages audience participation.
Elaine sings and plays guitar folk music.  She covers material spanning from first world war period right through to modern songs and tailors her set to cater for the age range of the audience so that they resonate with and enjoy their sing-a-long to the maximum!
Terry entertains us with a blend of musical theatre alongside classics from the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s.
Karen runs exercise classes on Mondays to get the week to an active start. She focuses on exercises which can help to make you stronger, more mobile and increase your confidence in everyday activities.
Denny is a singer who performs a wide range of popular music and always gets a great reception from the audience.
